BATCH SLAKING SYSTEM
Quicklime slaking with less raw material, and less maintenance

In a continual effort to offer our customers the exact equipment needed for their specific purposes, Chemco Systems now offers the Batch Slaker. This product line is intended to compliment our Slurry Slaker, Paste Slaker, and Ball Mill Slaker product lines. Now, no matter what type of slaking process, Chemco offers a quality product backed by years of experience in the industry.

The Batch Slaking system is designed to produce high-quality hydrated lime slurry from AWWA grade pebble quicklime or crushed quicklime. Chemco developed the system not only for customers that use lesser amounts of slurry and want the benefits of lower raw material costs than hydrated lime systems, but also for customers that desire less daily maintenance. The Batch Slaking system is inherently cleaner and less maintenance-intensive than continuous operating machines. Because quicklime is rapidly delivered to the slaking chamber, less dust is created thereby reducing the amount of labor required for regular housekeeping. Not only is there less dust, the slaker is designed to be self-cleaning after every batch.

The system employs Chemco's proven temperature control operating philosophy to deliver consistent high-quality hydrated lime without the need for precise and complicated weighing devices. Temperature control of the slaking process has proven, over many years of experience, to be the most reliable method of ensuring consistent hydrated lime particle size and greatly increases system efficiency. Because of the overall increased efficiency, operating costs are reduced as a result of low raw material usage.

This system can be provided as a stand-alone unit within a storage silo or retrofitted into an existing installation. Each system Chemco provides is custom designed to suit physical and process requirements of the individual customer.

Batch Slaking systems can be provided with any one of the following feeding devices:

Slakers can be constructed from carbon steel or stainless steel.

Each system is provided with Chemco Systems controls and programming that can be readily integrated with existing controls. Every system control panel is included with state-of-the-art Touch Screen Operator Interface technology that provides a flexible, easily understood means of operation.

Sizes are available for usage rates from 10 up to 10,000 lbs./hr. Approximately four batches per hour can be prepared. Water to lime ratio is adjustable from 3.3 to 4.5 to 1.
